Jay's Campaign Leaves Pundits Speechless

Political pundits are known to feast on presidential campaigns as a smorgasbord of material for their shrewd observations and biting wit. But as Jay Leno's unannounced bid for the presidency gains momentum, not one single pundit has written, voiced, or posted anything about Jay's campaign. For the first time in modern political history, pundits have been left absolutely speechless by a candidate.

Extensive internet searches and continuous monitoring of major news, entertainment, and media sources have yielded no comments whatsoever about Jay's run for the Oval Office.

According to one unidentified political expert, "Jay's campaign for president has to be one of the best-kept secrets around. No one one seems to know anything about it, and that's turning out to be the most brilliant political strategy of all. If pundits don't know about it, how can't joke or criticize it?"

At the Jay Leno for President campaign headquarters, Jay's unofficial, unauthorized campaign manager has a different take on why the pundits are silent. "Jay is so effective at making people laugh," he says, "that anything they write or say about him is going to make them look like total idiots. Frankly, I don't understand it, but, hey, presidential candidates have to use every weird advantage they've got."
