Post-Debate Scorecard: Jay Ranked #1
An informal scorecard released today by the political website, www.WhoWontheDebate.com, showed the winner in last Thursday's Democratic presidential debate was not Hillary or Barack or even Joe Biden. It was Jay Leno.
The scorecard ranked all eight Democratic candidates based on the answers they provided to questions Thursday night, using entertainment value as the key criteria. Though Jay Leno did even not appear in the debate held at the University of South Carolina, 8 out of 10 survey respondents indicated they enjoyed Jay Leno much more than any of the other candidates.
"The results are most unusual," stated one of the survey's creators. "For a candidate who wasn't even there to outscore the rest of the field, says a lot about Leno's popularity. Or else it proves just how boring the rest of the candidates really are. In any case, we'll need to study this phenonomon further."
Unofficially, the debate entertainment value rankings are, from best (1) to worst (9):
1. Jay Leno
2. Mike Gravel
3. Joe Biden
4. Barack Obama
5. Hillary Clinton
6. John Edwards
7. Bill Richardson
8. Christopher Dodd
9. Dennis Kucinich
