Jay's Hairstyling w/Tint: $39.95
While John Edwards struggles to explain a $400 haircut to his beleaguered supporters, Jay Leno has once again proven that when he becomes president, he's the kind of guy who won't waste the country's money. Emerging from an undisclosed Earl Scheib location on Tuesday, Jay sported his latest hairstyle--a classic tint-job that matches the color of one of his exotic cars. Total cost: $39.95.
Observers believe that Jay's stylish coif included shampoo, rinse, and clear coat. The entire process, including 30 minutes in the high-intensity drying chamber, took about four hours and left no traces of masking tape or overspray.
Supporters were excited. "See why we need Jay in the White House?" said one grassrooter. "Even with a generous tip for the paint technician, Jay still spent $350 less than Edwards on a haircut that, frankly, looks a hell of a lot better."
Jay Leno for President campaign officials had not been notified by Jay prior to the hair styling. But Jay's barbering and subsequent media coverage was seen as another stroke genius by the man who everyone wants to draft as a candidate. According to campaign manager Howard Lester, "Jay's sense of political timing is as sharp as his timing of every punchline. Within just a few hours of the Edwards debacle, Jay's new hairstyle sent the message loud and clear to voters that he knows how to spend money wisely."
According to high-level sources, no campaign funds were spent by Leno on the hair styling.
