Latest Poll: Jay Pulls Ahead of Pack
According to the Latest Poll, Jay Leno has pulled into a commanding lead over his challengers in the presidential race.
The poll, with a rough margin of error of plus/minus .75, was conducted in late March by the Fred Latest Company, a market research firm that routinely measures popularity among political candidates and brands of cat food.
Republicans and Democrats are equally stunned by the results of the Latest Poll. Apparently, hoping it will simply go away, none of the leading candidates have issued statements, but their supporters are clearly worried.
Fumed one ardent supporter of Republican candidate, Rudy Giuliani, "How the heck can a late-night host, who hasn't even announced he's running, pull so far ahead?"
A long-time backer of Democratic hopeful John Edwards had a similar reaction, "If the Latest Poll is right, and we have no reason to believe it isn't, then we've got a lot of catch-up to do."
Though Jay Leno could not be reached for comment, an unidentified campaign spokesperson was quoted as saying, "I'm sure Jay will be thrilled when he finds out about any of this. It's just what we needed to kick this campaign into high gear."
Bogus polls masquerading as accurate public opinion abound in presidential campaigns. The Jay Leno for President campaign is proud that our candidate will have absolutely nothing to do with them.
